Lanny Thorndike
Lanny Thorndike
President
Lanny Thorndike is President of Choate Investment Advisors. In this role, Lanny oversees the investment strategy and day-to-day operations of Choate Investment Advisors. Working closely with Choate’s wealth management team of trustees, lawyers, tax preparers, and trusts and estates administrators, Lanny helps to ensure the coordinated delivery of best-in-class integrated family office services to wealthy families and individuals – to help them grow and protect their assets across multiple generations.
Previously, Lanny spent over 18 years at Century Capital Management LLC where he served as Managing Partner and CEO, along with Chairman of the Century Funds. Prior to joining Choate, Lanny served as Managing Director of Congress Asset Management and a Portfolio Manager on the firm’s Small Cap Growth, SMid Growth, and Large Cap Growth Investment Committees. He was also a member of the firm’s Management Committee.
Lanny earned his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and received an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is on the board of several organizations, including MassGeneral Brigham, Brigham Health and the Cotting School, the nation's oldest school for disabled children.

Tamer M Alamuddin, CFA

Managing Director
Tamer Alamuddin is the Managing Director of Choate Investment Advisors. Tamer focuses on investment research and works closely with clients and the Wealth Management Group to provide tailored solutions for their wealth management needs and investment goals. He is also a member of Choate Investment Advisors’ Sustainable, Responsible and Impact Investing Committee, in which Tamer identifies attractive investments that also provide a social and environmental benefit.
Prior to joining Choate, Tamer was an analyst and portfolio manager at Osprey Partners, investing on behalf of major institutional clients. Tamer has also worked as a sector-specific analyst at hedge fund Akasha Capital and co-founded the long/short equity fund Tara Hill Capital. He has extensive analytic experience having worked as an analyst at Off Wall Street Research and as a consultant in the Boston office of McKinsey & Company.

Henry Dormitzer

Senior Portfolio Manager
Henry Dormitzer is a Senior Portfolio Manager at Choate Investment Advisors with almost 30 years of experience in investments, executive leadership and governance. Henry serves as a trustee for family trusts and foundations.
Henry was the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue during the implementation of the individual mandate for health insurance and as Massachusetts converted its corporate tax regime from single entity reporting to combined reporting. Other professional experience includes being a managing director at UBS Investment Bank focusing on bonds and structured financing and serving as CEO of a clean energy firm developing sustainable hydro power projects.
In addition, Henry has served on a number of boards. He was president of the board of trustees of Worcester Academy, a private secondary school in Massachusetts. During his time at Worcester Academy, Henry also chaired the investment and governance committees. Henry was a board member at MassDevelopment, Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center where he also served as chair of the investment committee.

Erin Kerr is a Portfolio Manager & Chief Compliance Officer at Choate Investment Advisors. As a Portfolio Manager, Erin focuses on investment research and works closely with clients and the Wealth Management Group to provide tailored solutions for their wealth management needs and investment goals. As Chief Compliance Officer, Erin is responsible for developing and managing all compliance initiatives to ensure that the Choate Investment Advisors and its employees are complying with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. Erin is also a member of Choate Investment Advisors’ Sustainable, Responsible and Impact Investing Committee, which identifies attractive investments that also provide a social and environmental benefit. Erin is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
Erin joined Choate Investment Advisors after receiving her MBA from the Boston University Questrom School of Business with dual concentrations in finance and strategy and business analysis. Erin graduated with honors and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society that recognizes academic achievement in the study of business for the top 20% of students. While attending business school, Erin worked in development at Boston University School of Law, specializing in cultivating long-term relationships with donor constituents. Erin previously graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a BA in International Relations and an emphasis on European Political Economy.

Jake Kidder CFA

Jake Kidder is a Portfolio Manager at Choate Investment Advisors with over fourteen years of experience in investment management. He works closely with Choate’s trustees, tax preparers, and trusts and estates advisors to provide custom integrated solutions for clients. A member of the investment committee, Jake focuses his research on fixed income and US equities.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Jake was a Portfolio Manager at Foster Dykema Cabot. He has also worked as an Investment Specialist at Wellington Management. Before attending business school, Jake was an Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Choate Investment Advisors.
Previously, Jake was a member of the Endicott College Board of Trustees and Finance Committee.

Alison Svizzero

Alison Svizzero is a Portfolio Manager at Choate Investment Advisors with over twenty-one years of experience in investment management. She works closely with clients and the Wealth Management group in order to provide tailored solutions for their wealth management needs and investment goals.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Alison was the Director of Investments at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she sourced and evaluated investment strategies, managed risk and liquidity, and played an integral role in growing the institution’s assets. She has also served as Interim Chief Investment Officer at Brandeis University. Alison received her MBA from Babson College, and her BA in Finance from Bryant University.

Christine Wright is a Portfolio Manager at Choate Investment Advisors. As a Portfolio Manager, Christine focuses on investment research and works closely with clients and the Wealth Management Group to provide tailored solutions for their wealth management needs and investment goals. She is also a member of Choate’s Sustainable, Responsible and Impact Investing Committee, where she identifies attractive investments that also provide a social and environmental benefit. Christine has a certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University and is a CFP® certificant.
Christine joined Choate Investment Advisors after receiving her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. While attending business school, Christine interned in the Capital Markets Group at Jones Lang LaSalle, where she conducted comprehensive underwriting and financial due diligence for commercial real estate assets. Prior to business school, Christine worked as an Investor Relations Analyst at Ares Management, a global alternative asset manager, where she provided investor relations support for public and private funds in the Private Debt Group. Christine received her BA in Economics with a Certificate in Markets and Management from Duke University.

Harrison Odaniell is the Director of Portfolio Analytics at Choate Investment Advisors. In this role, Harrison conducts quantitative research to improve Choate’s investment process. Additionally, he works closely with the Portfolio Managers to provide personalized investment solutions to Choate’s clients.
Harrison joined Choate Investment Advisors after earning a BS in Mathematics and Quantitative Economics from Tufts University, where he focused his studies on mathematical modeling. While at Tufts, he helped found the 180 Degrees Consulting Branch of Tufts University, an international student-run consultancy providing services to charities and nonprofit organizations. During the summers, Harrison attended the Business Bridge Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and interned twice with Choate Investment Advisors.

Emanuel Vieira De Andrade is an Investment Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. As an Investment Analyst, Emanuel is responsible for evaluating financial and investment information, as well as implementing investment ideas into client portfolios and providing due diligence on investment vehicles.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Emanuel worked as an Investment Consultant for Natixis Investment Managers where he gained experience in public markets, diversifying alternatives, and sustainable/thematic investment strategies. He graduated with a BBA in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance from Boston University, where he participated in Boston University’s Finance and Investment Club. Emanuel passed the CFA Level I exam in May 2021.

Malik Daley is an Investment Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. As an Investment Analyst, Malik evaluates financial and investment information to improve ChoateIA’s investment processes and works with the Portfolio Managers to provide personalized investment solutions for clients.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Malik worked as an Equity Research Associate at SVB Private, where he conducted stock specific research, and helped manage two internal equity strategies. He also previously worked as a Credit Analyst at Brookline Bancorp and a Management Consulting Associate at PwC.

Dennis H. Maier

Dennis Maier is an Investment Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. As an Investment Analyst, Dennis conducts quantitative research to improve ChoateIA’s investment process and works with the Portfolio Managers to provide personalized investment solutions to ChoateIA’s clients.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Dennis worked as an Investment Banking Capital Markets Analyst at Credit Suisse, where he provided product and advisory services to Financial Institutions (FIG) clients. Dennis graduated with a BS in Management and Business and Economics from Skidmore College.

Louis Marchant is an Investment Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. As an Investment Analyst, Louis is responsible for implementing investment ideas into client portfolios and providing due diligence on investment vehicles.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Louis worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate in the Transfer Pricing group, where he helped large multinational companies restructure their intercompany pricing policies to create optimal tax and operating structures in various industries. Louis graduated with a BS in Finance and Economics from Bentley University, where he participated in the Bentley Investment Group and Bentley Entrepreneurial Society.

Hideyoshi D Watanabe

Hideyoshi Watanabe is an Investment Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. As an Investment Analyst, Hideyoshi is responsible for implementing investment ideas into client portfolios and providing due diligence on our investment vehicles. Hideyoshi passed the CFA Level 2 exam in June 2015.
Hideyoshi joined Choate after receiving a BSBA from the Boston University Questrom School of Business, where he concentrated in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Hideyoshi was part of Choate, Hall & Stewart’s Trust Operations Department as a Trust Analyst. While working with the Trust Operations department, Hideyoshi specialized in account reconciliation and asset movement and also conducted day-to-day operations such as setting up and processing client wires, check deposits, along with opening and closing accounts.
Prior to attending Boston University, Hideyoshi served in the US Army for four years as an Infantry team leader.

Deven Swim is the Director of Wealth Management Technology & Special Projects for Choate Investment Advisors. He has over 20 years of experience in delivering solutions for banking and wealth management companies. Deven is a strategic and innovative leader with expertise in digital and business transformations, management consulting, and banking/wealth management company merger integrations.
Before joining Choate, Deven was the Head of Wealth Management and Trust Technology at Silicon Valley Bank, overseeing all key client, advisor, and employee technology solutions, and was responsible for defining the technology strategy and leading the execution of strategic initiatives. He also previously served as Head of Product Management at Boston Private and spent 11 years in the Financial Services Consulting Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC (PwC).

Courtney King

Special Projects Analyst
Courtney King joined Choate Investment Advisors in 2008 after working for three years on the Family Office Services team at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP. She works closely with members of ChoateIA and the family office team to ensure a high level of client service. Courtney leverages her institutional knowledge to work within groups refining processes and procedures related to serving our clients. She works on special client projects involving bookkeeping, reporting and meeting preparation, facilitates client outreach, and is responsible for essential compliance functions in support of ChoateIA’s Chief Compliance Officer.

Max Sands is a Business Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. Max works closely with the investment team to implement investment ideas into client portfolios and provide due diligence and quantitative research on investment vehicles.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Max worked as an analyst at IronHold Capital.

Brian Suitor is a Research and Operations Analyst at Choate Investment Advisors. As an Analyst, Brian works closely with the investment team to provide quantitative research and operational support to improve Choate’s investment process.
Brian joined Choate after receiving a BSBA from the Boston University Questrom School of Business, where he concentrated in Operations and Technology. While at Boston University, Brian earned his Six-Sigma Greenbelt Certification and competed for their Division I Wrestling program.
Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Brian worked at State Street as a financial operations specialist. At State Street, Brian was responsible for maintaining client holdings and account reconciliations, with a focus on derivative investments as a part of their Alternative Investment Solutions group.

Kara Hayhurst

Kara Hayhurst is responsible for office administration and account oversight.
Kara graduated from Merrimack College with a BA in psychology and child development and went on to receive her MEd from Merrimack. Prior to joining Choate Investment Advisors, Kara spent three years as a teacher helping students with psychological disorders.
Kara works closely with the investment team on special projects and preparation for client meetings.
